Stand-out Decorative Techniques for “Wow” Apparel

Welcome to the newest edition of our e-newsletter. In each issue we'll feature proven promotional marketing strategies that will grow your business by increasing brand awareness among your clients, prospects & employees. Read on for more...

If you really want your promotional apparel to turn heads and make a memorable statement, it must have a wow factor. The most basic t-shirt can be turned into a work of art with the right design, inks and decorative techniques. There are more options than ever available but you’ve got to know the best method to use on a particular fabric, and when/how to use these techniques to create the best effect.

Laser etching on fabrics and laser appliqués bring fine detail by using a laser beam to burn or cut single or multiple layers of material to reveal a sophisticated design. You can achieve, for example, a beautiful textured tone-on-tone look with laser etching or use laser appliqués for intricate multi-color logos/lettering.

Youthful audiences respond to garments with a little bling. Consider using specialty threads to add shine, glitter or iridescence to an otherwise plain embroidered logo. Colored metallic and rhinestone studs can be arranged in a sheet to depict your brand message then transferred to a garment using heat. (For more economical bling, ask us about glistening screen-printing inks with metallic, crystalina and shimmer options available.)

We can heighten the profile of your message on apparel by applying high-density ink to create a 3-D appearance or create a soft, textured hand with suede ink or replicate the rugged look of leather with leather inks. These are excellent options for apparel programs that can’t afford traditional embroidery but want to present a message with a distinctive raised effect or high-value tactile quality.

Finally, today’s digital printing and sublimation techniques allow us to create colorful reproductions of your most important full-color designs and photographic images. Give us a call or send us an e-mail, and we can help you decide which method is best for your apparel program, or collaborate to design an imprint that combines some of these exciting applications for a truly unique effect!
