Give Your Staff A Boost on the Road

UHY Advisors is a professional services organization providing accounting and taxation services, plus a variety of specialty consulting services, to companies around the world. They approached us in search of a product to give to employees who travel offsite to audit clients. Their first thought? “A bag might be good.”

No doubt about it: a travel bag would have been a suitable gift. And there are certainly countless styles in the marketplace to choose from. But we carefully considered the occasion and decided that a garment bag was more useful for professionals. UHY, and its staff, were thrilled with the idea and promptly placed an order. (It was such a hit they’ve already re-ordered the bag, too.)

This product is proving to be a winner with other clients, too. Best of all, it’s available in quantities of 25 or more, so even if you are part of a small- or medium-size organization it’s feasible to equip your sales or service team with a smart-looking piece of luggage that increases awareness of your company.

Like the concept of providing your staff with travel items? The possibilities are endless: toiletry kits, luggage tags, alarm clocks, fitness sets, travel mugs, laptop accessories, travel wallets, you name it. To learn more, call us at 516-935-0553!

The Allure of Lumpy Mail

The key to direct mail is getting recipients to open, and then respond to, your message. Let’s face it, we all get tons of so-called “junk mail” from businesses wanting us to buy their goods or use their services. And we throw most of it away – often unopened.

With typical direct mail response rates of 2% considered a success (e.g., 20 responses for every 1,000 pieces sent), it’s in your best interest to do everything you can to increase that number. A Baylor University study found that you can nearly double your response rate by including a promotional product in a “dimensional” mailing (i.e., a small box or something other than a standard business envelope).

The lump in your mailing can be anything – a pen, refrigerator magnet, screen-sweeper, divot repair tool, pin, rubber wristband, mousepad, pedometer, key chain, ruler, letter opener or sewing kit – as long as it’s light enough to mail yet bulky enough to arouse curiosity.

The upside to doubling the response to your mailing? A lot of qualified leads that could potentially turn into new business for you. Calculate the revenue from an average sale, and those additional prospects should bring in way more than enough to pay for the products and postage involved in your mailing.

It’s a great way to expand your business, and we can help you choose the right product and package that will ensure your direct mail campaign meets or exceeds its objectives.

Get a Jump Start on ’06 Promotions

Chances are you’ve got lots of upcoming opportunities to promote and celebrate. But don’t kid yourself: the dates on your calendar are closer than they appear! We’ll make certain you don’t wind up with a humdrum, potentially ineffective promotion just days before an event. Here’s how:

Trade Show Promotions. You’ve invested in exhibit materials, sales literature, and the expense of sending staff to a show. Let’s brainstorm how to attract pre-registered attendees, clients and prospects to your exhibit, impress them once they get there, and, equally important, entice them to talk to you after they are back in their office.

Volume Discounts. If you expect to use a large quantity of a product over the course of a year, place the order in full, get a discount, and we’ll release product as needed. You’ll save time, money and storage space!

Specials. If we have a list of your promotional needs for the year, we will always be on the lookout for products on special that are suitable for your target audiences. An apparel item that’s scheduled to be discontinued in July might be an ideal holiday gift for employees.

The more we know about your year-round promotional needs, the better equipped we’ll be to help you make the most of your marketing dollars in ‘06. Let’s get together in the next few weeks to start planning!

Call us at 516-935-0553 to schedule a meeting to discuss your ’06 promotions!
