A promotional theme featuring items and gifts that support your mission will go a long way towards business growth. Products selected for arbitrary reasons (e.g., they are inexpensive or available in a hurry) will very often end up in a drawer, in the trash or in the hands of the wrong person. If your organization’s products or services are designed to help your target audience grow their business, you should consider a promotion – or a promotional campaign – centered around the concept of growth. Some of the many products suited to this theme include:

Create some talk with the outing announcement. Tie into a theme. For example, if you’re throwing a luau, attach an invitation to a lei. If you’re planning a picnic, screen print an invite onto a checkered cloth napkin. Make sure your staff senses that management gets pleasure just from planning the get-together. Don’t forget the paper goods. If you need to purchase disposable plates, cups, etc., invest a little extra to imprint them with your company tagline and logo. Show your employees you believe in your brand! Make children feel welcome. Show your employees that family matters by planning games and surprises for their children/grandchildren. Consider a treasure hunt consisting of small, inexpensive toys or hand out sand pails with treats, pint-sized sunglasses and bubbles/bubble wands. (All of these items can be imprinted with your logo, of course.) Build team spirit. Organize a walkathon or hiking expedition. Take a cue from the hit reality show Survivor and create your own company “buffs” to give employees for the event. Provide imprinted water bottles and sunscreen to insure that everyone is well hydrated and comfortable. Whatever the venue of your event, remember that summer brings people outdoors and – if you plan right – it can also carry your company name out and about as well. A solution: Teambuilding. Encourage collaborative relationships among your employees, and you’ll perk them up plus motivate productivity. Try these ideas: Rally. Make sure all staffers are “in the game.” Sport themes drive this concept home. A fun way to announce a team program is with group jerseys. Or, roll up literature about group goals and pass it out in imprinted stadium cups. Include mention of a team reward; group tickets to sporting events in your city could be excellent incentives to encourage performance. Rivet. Use a team motto to inspire. Quality Comes First, for example, will remind staff of a zero-defect goal in production. Keep the goal at hand by imprinting it on awareness bracelets or emphasize the importance of group time management with “mini watches” made from the same rubber wristbands. Another twist: imprint team dog tags or use “Inspire Rings” – silver-plated, unisex pendants on nylon cords – for symbolic reinforcement. Relax. Creativity often grows out of relaxed interaction, so try team trivia challenges. Use questions about your company or marketplace to stimulate interaction and measure knowledge. Take team-members outside and have them literally aim for goals with graphic gliders – paper airplanes that can be imprinted with your corporate name or message. Teams that hit the most goals collectively win prizes. These kinds of activities will remind employees of the importance of everyone’s involvement. Like these ideas?
