Give What Your Audience Wants

Beth M.Levine, OwnerAs you’ve probably observed, many companies give out promotional products without much thought to their audience. The result? They get passed along to others or discarded. What a waste! Of dollars, for sure, but also the opportunity to spread word about an organization.

At Multi Media Promotions, we do everything possible to ensure that our clients are selecting products their customers, prospects and employees want. One way we do this is to make sure they know all of their options.

For instance, have you ever seen a promotional product you thought would be perfect as a gift if only it were available in a different color or size or shape? Customizing or manufacturing a custom product is more feasible than you might think. You should also know studies show that merchandise is preferred over cash, and there are plenty of possibilities for giving what your audience wants within any budget.

As always, hope you find this newsletter helpful and I welcome your feedback!

Spotlight on: Sororities and Fraternities

Maybe it’s been years since you’ve thought about the Greek system. Or, maybe you’ve got college-age kids so you hear about sorority or fraternity life all year long. Either way, today there are tons of fun, colorful and comfortable ways college students can proudly tout their membership and participation in a sorority or fraternity.

The occasions for celebrating and promoting a sorority or fraternity are numerous – from formals and semi-formals (college students want keepsakes from special events just like business professionals) to fundraising activities and recruitment (aka Rush). What appeals to the collegiate crowd? Tee shirts. Blankets. Photo albums. Sweatshirts. Sweatpants. Drinking cups. PJs. Shot glasses (for the over-21 set, of course). The opportunities are practically endless.

If you’re spreading the word about our ability to serve this market’s needs (is that a subtle enough hint? This is fun work for us!), know that we are equipped to create or re-create artwork (this is often necessary for these organizations) and we can overcome the challenges many students face (e.g., getting their co-members to agree on an item and price).

Tell your kids, your friends’ kids, your neighbors and/or your co-workers that when it comes to outfitting sororities and fraternities, we’d love to help. Just call us at 516-935-0553 or send us an e-mail for ideas and options.

Promotional Products: HR’s Secret Weapon

In business, recognition usually takes one of two forms: cash or merchandise. It might surprise you to learn that merchandise is considered more effective. Participants in a study by the Incentive Marketing Association labeled cash an “unemotional” reward, noting that it’s most likely used to pay bills or stashed in a bank account, taking with it the memory of why it was given in the first place – and defeating its power as a motivating force. Conversely, a whopping 80% of respondents agreed that merchandise is remembered longer than cash.

What kind of merchandise? At one end you have items like brand-name luggage, watches, writing instruments, and other products typically associated with sales incentive programs and length-of-service awards. At the other end of the spectrum are everyday items like logoed wearables, pins, certificates, trophies, electronics, binders – virtually anything that fits the job and the employee being recognized.

The key is using promotional products to maintain a connection to the company, to act as a visible, lasting sign of your appreciation. The choices are limitless. It’s important that this kind of recognition becomes a part of your management plan, a way to promote teamwork, productivity, and quality.

Human Resources experts know the value of rewarding achievement. Sit down with your HR staff and discuss ways in which you can protect and motivate your most valuable asset – your employees.

Send us an e-mail or call us at 516-935-0553 if you’d like to explore different ways to express your appreciation of your human resources.

Have You Ever Considered a Custom Product?

With literally hundreds of thousands of products at our fingertips, chances are excellent that we can locate the perfect item for your next promotion, direct-mail campaign, product launch, or recognition program.

But what if you’d like a clock shaped like your company logo, or a replica of your new corporate headquarters in porcelain? What if your signature color isn’t one of the standard hues available from most apparel firms? What if you’d like a pen that’s an exact replica of your latest high-tech product? If you’re one of those people who’s constantly thinking outside the box when it comes to promotions, take heart. Today’s manufacturers are fully capable of making your wildest marketing dreams a reality.

Just keep in mind that the definition of “custom” can be pretty broad. In many cases, creating a unique size or shape for an item is considered customizing. This includes variations on many standard products such as binders, calendars, bobbleheads, clocks, keytags, magnets, mugs, coasters, awards, pins, blankets, sponges, stadium cushions, etc.

Then there’s the opposite end of the spectrum, where we work together to create a one-of-a-kind promotional product from the ground up. Either way, the possibilities are limited only by your imagination. Just be sure if you decide to go with a customized item, you factor in some extra time for brainstorming, design and production. Beyond that, the sky’s the limit!

If you’d like to explore ways to present your target audience with a custom-manufactured product, call us at 516-935-0553 or send us an e-mail!
