First, we moved into our new office. A formal announcement will be coming in a couple of weeks. (Glad that’s done. Have you moved into a new home or office lately?!) We’ve also had our hands full participating in a coalition of women-owned businesses called WBElieve. Together we exhibited at WBENC’s national conference and business fair in Atlanta about six weeks ago. It was a success (details are below) and we’re very excited to be part of this group! In this month’s newsletter we also highlight food gifts. This is a not-so-subtle hint, by the way, to suggest that you start thinking now about corporate gift-giving, so we aren’t under the gun in December to help you show your appreciation of clients and staff. But no worries… in the coming months we’ll share more ideas than you can possibly use… Enjoy the rest of your summer. And, as always, feel free to call me at P.S. If you missed last month’s newsletter, click here for the back issue! |

An emphasis on sustainability in an organization is a multifaceted approach that weaves many experts together. For a company to be successful, everyone from purchasing agents to human resources is required to commit to evaluating and changing the way business is being done. WBElieve provides its clients with a full audit of their daily activity vis-à-vis the environment, evaluating everything from the paper and ink that they use to the public relations and marketing tactics that they employ. At a recent WBENC conference, WBElieve's debut exhibit drew an overwhelmingly positive response. Seeded bookmarks along with our marketing brochure made from recycled wood and fiber were handed out to all visitors and exhibitors. Multi Media Promotions also gave out many of its sustainable marketing kits that include an LED windup flashlight and pens that are biodegradable and made from recycled paper. Other items in the kit were manufactured from corn resin, recycled tires, or seeded papers. Attendees learned about manufacturing from recycled currency, denim, newsprint, sawdust, electronics, yellow pages and post industrial waste, and the organic and recycled bags in the marketplace. There was also plenty of interest in Multi Media Promotions’ recent emphasis on apparel manufactured from organic cotton, bamboo, soy and recycled polyester and denim. If you’d like to explore ways in which your organization can do more to demonstrate its concern for our environment, Multi Media Promotions and/or WBElieve would love to help. The answer involves the senses: it's just a different sense that's stimulated – it is taste instead of sight! You’ve no doubt experienced this. Have you ever received a fruit basket or a bottle of fine wine? Even after the food was gone, the fond memory lingered. You may have even told others about the gift. The gesture stayed with you…the food/beverage, the experience and, most importantly, the giver. That’s what makes food unique among promotional products. It’s received differently, processed differently, and remembered differently. It may not be as practical as other products, but it still conveys a strong, lasting impression. The array of food gifts we offer to is staggering – from mints and bulk candy to meats, wines, exotic fruit and high-end edibles. In between are chocolates, nuts, pretzels, popcorn, coffee, tea, cakes, cookies, cheese and condiments.
Billions of dollars will be spent this holiday season on food gifts. Our suppliers offer product that is fresher and less expensive than some of the “big brands” in the marketplace. If you’re considering food gifts, let’s get together for a tasting session! |

Beyond the obvious – binders, bags, pens, badge-holders, etc. – there are banquet items, awards, lapel pins, speaker gifts, in-room amenities, wearables, even imprinted CD-ROMs of presentations. Choosing the right product is twofold; first, select items that promote the event/meeting, and second, pick products that are relevant but also hit home with attendees. You want items that will not get thrown away or given to attendees’ kids when they get home. (Hint: Collectibles are always a hit, and it’s a great way for people to remember the event. Ask us for examples.) The key is to be different, which takes thinking time, so always build this into your event-planning schedule.
